I have always loved the quality and feel of fiesta - but not too crazy about the colors. I was happy with an inexpensive set of plain corelle for years - but when I realized fiesta had bold, dark, jewel tones - I immediately started shopping!

I ordered the 4 piece cobalt plates from mega china - the items were absolutely perfect! The shipping was super fast (left their fulfillment center within 24 business hours, and shipping using ups ground - yay!).

I'm a little disappointed by MC's choice of packing materials (stryo packing peanuts - ick!) but I understand the need to protect the vitrified china, and have suggested that the inexpensive packing material be 'reconsidered'. It has no impact on the quality of the product... just a 'need to be green' obsession I have. :)

FYI - The cobalt is MUCH darker than most pictures show... it's deep and beautiful, but I would recommend that if you are looking for a 'mixed' set, you avoid black/cobalt as a combo (in total, I purchased black, cobalt, plum, evergreen, and cinnabar... but decided to return the black because it is too similar to the blue from a distance or in shadow (shadow=in cabinets). I may order the black in the future-if I grow tired of another color. The black is a gorgeous glaze, but with the 16 piece set I wanted, a little 'too' close to the cobalt.

These are great plates. They're sturdy, look good, wash up well, and are just the right size. Nicely priced too. Highly recommended.

I like the size of these plates, a generous area for large steaks, or a full size dinner, etc. - its a good sized plate. But when I put it in my microwave it gets hot to the touch afterwards. It says "microwave safe" in the description so not sure what is going on there. I'm now wary to use it in the microwave.
